2019 SUBMISSION DEADLINE:  Tuesday, October 1, 2019 @ 23:59 pm ADT

The 2019 Conference Planning Committee is pleased to invite researchers to submit abstracts for poster presentations to be delivered at the 2019 NB Health Research Conference: Using Research to Build a Healthier Society.  

The poster displays provide a forum for researchers to showcase their work and promotes networking among conference participants. Every poster author will be able to describe their research to conference attendees during scheduled and informal viewing times (day 1) as part of the conference program. Visit our conference webpage for details on scheduled poster viewing times.

Please follow these instructions carefully otherwise it may disqualify your submission. Submissions not meeting the minimum criteria will not be accepted.

Please note that there is no submission fee but the first author/presenter must register to attend the conference by October 14, 2019. You may only submit one entry.

Body of the Abstract: 

The abstract must contain the following sections (headings in CAPS & each section must start on a new line):

INTRODUCTION (or Background or Rational):
HYPOTHESIS (Objectives or Aims):
CONCLUSIONS: (“The results will be discussed” is not sufficient)

Abstract Length:

Limited to 350 words

In order to be considered as a poster presenter, you must complete all fields on the application form. The poster may not exceed 4’ wide x 8’ tall and orientation must be portrait (one side of poster board and velcro will be supplied).  

If your poster is accepted, you will need to register for the conference (with payment) by October 14th, 2019 to complete your requirements. NOTE: If your registration is paid by a supervisor or your institution, it is your responsibility to ensure payment is received by NBHRF by October 14th, 2019.

Registration fees are $290.00 for a standard registration and $150.00 for a student registration (plus fees and taxes). Your fee includes all conference activities and all meals (including the gala banquet. Please refer to our online registration page for further information. 

You will be notified of acceptance of your poster abstract by email within ten business days.

For the Student Award Trainee/Health Professional Competition ONLY:

The first author must be the submitter and presenter. Submissions from researchers in the following categories will be accepted: 

Undergraduate, Medical and Master Student
PhD Student
Postdoctoral Fellow
Health Professional (excluding MD’ with over 5 years’ experience)

12 authors will be awarded a cash prize as follows:

* Categories may change based on number of submissions.  Space is limited and we may need to limit the submissions.  Get your poster abstract in early!  

All posters that are accepted for the poster competition will first be reviewed and ranked based on the completed abstract submission prior to the conference. The highest ranked posters will be evaluated during poster judging time at the conference.
