The 2020 program was aimed at promoting collaboration in health research and at recognizing excellence in research conducted by research teams in all areas and disciplines that fall under health research. For this program, teams were formed as collaborations (a research team including two or more investigators from different departments, institutions or agencies) where at least one team member was in New Brunswick.

Once a month, from January 2020 to September 2020, one research team was selected from the pool of candidates to be highlighted by NBHRF.

Winners were showcased in an online Huddle article, on the NBHRF website, in the monthly NBHRF eNewsletter. Typically, one team is awarded Research Team of the Year, based on a voting process by the health research community.
